Mr. Sewell joined Copperhead Environmental Consulting, Inc. in February 2006. With nineteen years of experience with ecological surveys and project management, Price has gained experience in a wide variety of fields. His primary focus has been in Section 7 Endangered Species surveys and agency coordination. His field expertise includes the identification of fish, freshwater mussels, bats, reptiles, and amphibians. In addition to field work, Mr. Sewell has conducted GIS ecological impact analysis for large scale transportation projects.

Price has coordinated Copperhead’s internal cave surveys since 2008 and is proficient in hibernating bat identification, technical caving techniques, vertical rope work, cave mapping, and cave rescue.  In fulfilling this responsibility, Price has become familiar with many of the caves harboring Threatened and Endangered bats in KY, TN, and IN.  He also instructs Copperhead’s in-house vertical rope work training.

Mr. Sewell is Copperhead’s lead malacologist for freshwater mussel surveys and is proficient at planning surveys and the identification of mussel fauna of Kentucky, Tennessee, Indiana, Ohio, and West Virginia.  He is a certified SCUBA and Rescue diver.  Additionally, Price has expertise in the identification of freshwater fishes, particularly the upper Cumberland River fauna.
