Copperhead has a dedicated team of botanists with an extensive and varied project experience base. Our botanical team is composed of individuals with advanced degrees who are recognized in the scientific community as experts in the field of botany. Members of our team also have specialized training in the identification of individuals and the habitat of the federally listed Virginia Spiraea (Spiraea virginiana), Running Buffalo Clover (Trifolium stoloniferum), and Small Whorled Pogonia (Isotria medeoloides). Botanical projects have been completed for municipal, state, and federal government agencies and include:

• Surveys for threatened/endangered plant species
• Non-native/ invasive plant surveys
• Multi-species/ complete plant surveys
• Plant community descriptions
• Species identification and estimated percent cover in nested plot study

Our project experience provides an extensive geographical expertise that allows us to operate from the Mid-West and Eastern United States to the Caribbean. The botanical team also provides an expert resource for plant identification and are a key element of our ecological service, mitigation design, and monitoring.
